It Never Happened, Or Maybe I Just Wasn't Paying Attention

What are future generations going to think about its history's past when they hear of such horrid stories including 9/11, the ongoing war in Iraq, our nation's controversy with oil. It is possible that our government is working alongside entertainment technology in order that our knowledge isn't based around the controversies and troubles that our government has taken part in. Rather with Apple releasing the iPod and various other electronic devices finally being revealed, I believe we as a nation will become deafened by these gadgets, thus not taking into coincidence what went on in the United States.

I'm certain that government understand that the prevalence of hearing has nearly quadrupled as a result of the invention of iPods. Currently more technology is being released that is expediting the process of hearing loss. For example, I currently have Bose noise-canceling headphones on. Why noise-canceling and why hasn't our government cared at all about the issue of hearing loss and how our nation is always being distracted by technology. This is the government's underground plan to wipe away its harsh history. By entertaining people with new gadgets that help them become unaware of their surroundings, our government has successfully been able to cover up reasons of going to Iraq for oil.

Apple, Microsoft, Zune, etc. all play a role in the government's huge and patient hoax. By partnering with the entertainment industry, our economy gains money, thus people are happy. The government is then smiled upon for the brief moments of finally understanding that the economy isn't in such a slump after all. After the government has realized that the nation has become uneasy about its nation's decisions, secret meetings are set up which help decide when to launch the new technology from Apple or Microsoft. This back up plan of introducing a new gadget into the world will buy time for the government.

When our generation of youth have reached their 40's, I believe that we will find ourselves dumbfounded at the fact that we really did not have a full grasp of what was going on in the world. We may know exactly how many songs were on our iPods, or when Limewire or Napster was terminated. Many of us will have a sever case of hearing loss, meaning that we will have a hard time relaying our knowledge because we are too depressed with our own well-beings. Hearing loss can lead to depression. Since communication is the main means of relating with others, people who constantly find themselves asking, "Can you repeat that?" will eventually stop talking to others because of their hearing problems. Our government has constructed a well thought out means of silencing its generation of people that experienced 9/11, the war in Iraq, and even the older generations with the JFK assassination.

Walking to class, I see 4 out of 10 people who have earphones. These people are unaware of their surroundings, I just hope that in the future, they will not be the ones sitting alone in their houses questioning what really happened during their adolescence.

Glimpse of My Research Paper on Recess

Current mainstream society has focused its attention towards the present, thus placing less attention on our future. It seems as though our nation has been hypnotized by the aftermath of the war in Iraq. Everyday our eyes are tuned into the news and sent into a trance as we watch gas prices slowly increase a little more each day. I believe that knowing about current events is important, but I also believe that we must also build a stable foundation for our future. As a Communication Science and Disorders major at Saint Louis University, I support speech language pathologists and audiologists' role in helping people, especially children with speech, language, and communication. A conflict that exists between my belief in building a foundation for our children and my support for the CSD department is the ongoing situation in certain school when a child would be taken out of recess in order to get developmental speech treatment. In addition to conflicts like this, physical problems such as obesity, present another problem. I believe recess should be kept in school schedules because its pros outweigh its cons.

First let's start by understanding the history of recess. It initially began as a result of the need for human mentality to take a break after a long period of work. After many schools began to take breaks that allowed a half hour of freedom for both teachers and students, other schools also began to adopt recess into their daily schedules. According to Anthony Pellegrini, "recess is defined as a temporary withdrawal from work or activity." Therefore, this break that was taken in the middle of the day was eventually referred to as recess. Written records exist that explain how the name recess was formulated, but I find it amazing "to find virtually nothing written about the historical origins of recess in American schools (Pellegrini pg 23)."

Recess has been known as the break taken in the school day that allows students to get away from structure. On a more political perspective, "the role of recess will probably be judged, for better or worse, on its influence on children's academic achievement ( Pellegrini pg 140)." Recess may either interfere with learning or it may facilitate learning and achievement. Depending on the student's tests scores, the Education Board will respond accordingly to counter tests score results. If students score higher when having recess, then recess will be kept in that school. If students score lower when having recess, then recess will most likely be shortened to allow more time for academics. Schools are able to understand how their students cope with recess by subtly lowering the amount of time for it and then observing attention spans and most importantly grades. This long awaited break by most students also allows the children to experience life lesson and develop skills that could not be learned in the classroom. Development in social skills such as cooperation and resolving conflict can be learned through a game of basketball. For example, if there are two many people for two teams, children can develop a simple system, in which, losers of the first game are substituted with a new set of players and then this process is repeated.

JFK Assassination Controversy

John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 while traveling down Elm St. in Dallas, TX on an open car in a motor arcade. I find this interesting because I am from Texas and I have driven to the roads that the motorcade traveled. At the John F. Kennedy museum in Dallas, TX I remember learning so much about the well respected and honored president. After the first couple levels, the museum is all about 100% reliable facts, but nearing the end of the museum many controversial sections exists.

Controversy exists concerning John F. Kennedy that deals with where the shots were fired?, How many shots were fired? Why Kennedy’s head jerked back and to the left? and What was Lee Harvey Oswald’s role in the assassination?. These questions were triggered by people who saw Zapruder’s JFK assassination film hoax. Zapruder’s film shows John F. Kennedy’s head first jerking forward and then a bullet is shown going through the front left portion of his head. There existed three possible explanations for the film which are: JFK was hit by two bullets at almost the same time; one from behind and then one from the front, JFK was only hit from behind and brain matter exploding from the front caused his head to recoil backwards, lastly, JFK was hit from behind and some sort of muscle reaction caused his head to fly backwards.

Despite the fact that Zapruder’s film only lasted 27 seconds, it caused people to question the JFK assassination for many decades. Other statements that were thrown in the air, were ideas such as finding out why shots were heard from the grassy knoll if JFK’s head initially seemed to jerk forwards and then backwards. Despite the controversy that exists with JFK’s assassination I still find comfort in reading information regarding John F. Kennedy that noted him as the most respected and honored president in United States history. The controversy may cause his name to be known for many years to come. At John F. Kennedy’s gravestone exists an ‘eternal flame’ that commemorates the man as forever having an affect on our lives.

Gateway Into a College Student's Mind; 'Oh SLU, You've Been So Good to Me'

I find myself sitting in my dorm room with the lights out. Roommate number 1 is already sleeping and roommate number two went out for a smoke. I am here typing away as I have seemed to have found myself in a adrenaline rush for writing. I have just written 2 essays for my communication science and disorders class and I recently finished my 'Good and Bad Source' blog. My mindset is currently carefree right now. I remember the times when I would bring back a good paper to my parents to feel how proud they are for me. Now it seems like the best is what I'm always striving for. No more parents around to run off to show my outstanding work on a class project, presentation, or paper. Life right now is currently taken for granted and almost robotic. College students are hindered by the immense load of homework that we need to finish. We never have enough time to really appreciate our work because we find ourselves worrying about the next huge assignment that is coming up. These ideas are all a representation of my paradigm as a hard working college student. I have come to know other people out there who don't have to try as hard, but still get the A's and are able to go out on weekends.

I find that I need to suffer so much now, because in the end I will find out that it was all worth it. The late night on my computer not playing computer games, rather writing essays and crossing off my 'to-do' list on my planner. I find myself exhausted already, but I find energy and hope that summer is 3 months. I mean this semester has not been a very long 3 months, but I feel that the last couple of weeks will feel like a glimpse of hell. Studying for finals, cleaning, fixing the room, storing everything I own into cardboard boxes; so that I can somehow find a truck to move it all to storage, all of this while I try not to print off my intinery and somehow pack correctly so that I don't go over the 50 pound weight limited and force my parents to indirectly pay an extra $25. Overall I have enjoyed college, the slight seconds of glory as I turn in a paper and finish taking a test/quiz with a feeling of delight. But these moments never last forever, suddenly I find that the 5 hours spent on research and another 5 hours spent on preparing the presentaion was not enough, plus that test/quiz that I thought I did well on was actually all a fluke, and I find myself questioning if I was studying or was that 3 hours of my life for 4 days in a row all a dream.

Yes, this all exist within my mind.
Thanks for reading and sorry for the sentence errors; it's getting late. I have a pre-cal quiz at 10. Goodnite.

Good and Bad Source for Recess

I am writing my research paper on recess, and I will be making the argument that recess should be kept in the school schedule. People on both sides of the argument bring about ideas concerning recess and how it has pros and cons that make an impact on how our children in the 21st century are being raised. I found a reliable website that I will use in my paper. Certain aspects about the page allow me to figure out whether or not a certain internet source is reliable.

The website: http://www.jstor.org/sici?sici=0002-8312(199524)32%3A4%3C845%3ATEORTO%3E2.0.CO%3B2-F&cookieSet=1 is reliable because it is published by the American Education Research Association. It is an organization based website that is also supported by J Stor, which is the 'trusted archives for scholarship' that St. Louis University also supports. This article is also a part of the American Educational Research Journal. The site clearly cites sources by informing us Vol. 32, No. 4 (Winter, 1995), pp 845-864. Another factor that I found interesting was that three names are written that represents the authors of the article. They also all have universities under their names, which allows readers to find out where they have worked or done research at. By merely reading the first entry to this article, the authors Pellegrini, Huberty, and Jones have done their research via three field experiments. This article is also definitely reliable because they give a brief overview of the three authors and what their main area of focus is on.

An article that I came by which does not seem very trustworthy is http://nochildleft.com/2005/sum05recess.html. This web page is clearly biased because they refer to their page as ‘a site advocating a sound approach to school improvement’. A side article on the web page is titled No More Recess: The New American Sweatshop. This page definitely shows anger towards those that believe that recess should be abolished. I don’t plan on using this webpage because it is biased, it is a ‘.com’ site, they only reference two cites, and the page contains side links with cartoons, a bookstore, and a free subscription. Unreliable sources such as this give students a hard time to piece their essays together because bad roots should be weeded out. This page, for example, makes a good point and connects it with a fairly known organization, but the webpage fails to express the views of the other side.

David Irving

David Irving once said, "I don't see any reason to be tasteful about Auschwitz. It's baloney. It's a legend. Once we admit the fact that it was a brutal slave labor camp and large numbers of people die, as large numbers of innocent people died elsewhere in the war, why believe the rest of the baloney?' Mr. Irving has been able to establish himself as a reputable and controversial chronicler of World War II. He was able to get his name out into the media because he was involved with high-profile lawsuits. David Irving’s main goal in life is to deny the Holocaust. According to a website written in 2005 titled “Extremism in America”, Mr. Irving continued to raise money and lead an annual “Real History Conferences.”
I remember my main school project during 6th grade was to create a 10 minute report on a certain event in history that changed people’s lives. I chose the Holocaust, because at the time, I could not think of any other event that I have heard more about than this. Also, I remember finding in my research that the total death count was around 1.3 billion people. Despite my whole semester of doing research on the Holocaust, I never came across anybody who denied the Holocaust until now. David Irving’s work as a Holocaust denier is a very unique job.
David Irving does not only express ideas that he formulates in his head, rather he also illegally investigates certain details concerning the Holocaust. For example, Irving the Denier collaborated with a man named Fred A. Leuchter Jr., who is a “self-described engineer from Massachusetts who specialized in designing execution apparatus, to investigate the use of gas chambers. “In his findings, Leuchter claimed that samples he illegally chipped off the walls of the gas chamber at Auschwitz did not contain residue of cyanide gas recorded as having been used there. David Irving was able to put together this sort of information in order to carry out his campaign to deny the Holocaust. Mr. Irving “remained committed to The Leuchter Report. Irving was eventually sent to court because justice argued that it was “incontrovertible that Irving qualifies as a Holocaust denier.” He remains as one of the most popular Holocaust deniers in history.

Recess

My research paper will be focused on recess and whether or not it is important for a child's development and growth. I chose this topic because my major is Communication Science & Disorders. Plus, there have been incidences when a child would be taken out of recess in order to work on their speech, language, and communication skills. Child development specialists question the pros and cons of recess. Writing this research paper would also help my knowledge in the field later on. Database categories such as education and communication would be beneficial to my research paper because education deals with recess and communication deals with the overall interaction that goes on in school. Pros of recess include: growth in social skills (cooperating, communicating, and respecting others), resolving conflict, sharing, and self-discipline. On the other hand, the Cons are: time away from learning, children begin focusing more on sports, chatting (gossip), and a hierarchy is slowly established (popular and non-popular kids). I believe recess is important because it allows children do whatever they want, although with slight boundaries, these are still able to develop life skills.

Do Not Vote for Schwarzenegger, If He Ever..

Are there people out there who are fanatics for movie superstars? How about the money and power hungry people in this world who support with their heart and money a certain political candidate. If these two worlds were to ever mix concerning a high level of authority, I believe chaos would reign. If the guidelines for becoming the United States president was to ever change, so that a non-United States born person can become our president, then I believe Arnold would have definitely ran for the position (Ad anitiquitatem & red herring). Do not vote for Arnold Schwarzenegger for our president because he will turn the face of United States defense into one that resembles that of the movies he has starred in, such as: Terminator 1,2,&3, Last Action Hero, and dozens more (Ad hominem & Appeal to False Authority).

Even though Arnold Schwarzennegger is currently the ‘governator’ of California, there has been a lot of questionable actions that he has made for the state. For example, according to Jim Byrd Mr. Schwarzennegger has signed the bill SB777, which states that the terms “mom and dad” and “husband and wife” will be banned from California textbooks because they are offensive to gays, lesbians, and transgendered students. Another recorded account of Arnold Schwarzennegger acting unstable is when he said, “But that is all in my past. I haven’t ridden it since last Tuesday” to answer a question of a reported who asked, “What if we found a Nazi tank on your lawn?”(red herring). Again, when a reporter asked a ‘what if’ question, “What if we would a film of you leading a Ku Klux Klan rally?” Mr. Schwarzennegger answered, “This was just a stunt to promote bodybuilding, and if anyone I lynched was offended, then I’m sorry” (complex question).

I suggest United States citizens to not vote for Arnold Schwarzennegger because he will also lead to the result of crazy, gun-bearing fans and supporters if he were to ever fun for president (hasty generalization). Throughout all the movies he has been through, he has increased his number of fans every time. Supporters would have probably made incredibly random YouTube videos featuring his rise from terminator to the white house. These videos probably would’ve followed the lines war, terminator, and half naked footage of him shooting alongside United States soldiers. I believe about 70% of the United States population already has heard about Arnold; therefore, they all know him because of his movies, but when he would run for president, people would obscure the difference between seeing him as a muscled killing machine and a well-dressed political leader, AKA our president!

Cryptozoology

Remember the days when you were a kid reading non-fiction novels that introduced a whole new group of creatures into your life and imaginations. Those days when you would wander around in search for Bigfoot or the rare occasion when you would find yourself near a huge body of water, thus wondering if the Lochness monster was inside. I believe all children are masters of zoology, which is the study of hidden animals. "Cryptozoology relies heavily upon testimonials and circumstantial evidence in the form of legends and folklore, and the stories and alleged sightings of mysterious beasts by indigenous people, explorers, and travelers." Theses trained professionals focus on creatures not only including Big Foot or the Loch Ness Monsters, but they also search for white or black squirrels, the Chupacabra, and mermaids. No matter what new creature is imagined, drawn on paper, or thought to be seen on a mysterious location, children and trained professionals alike will be sharing the honor of opening their imaginations and letting their desires for excitement flow abundantly.

Trap Shooting

I enjoy finding out about new things and gaining a desire to do it all over once again. My roommate recently took me out to the St. Louis Trap/Skeet Shooting place where we would spend the next 3 hours ours of our lives shooting disks while taking turns. Even though we practically carried out the same motion each time, the focus on seeing the target leave the house, where it is launched from, and floating in the sky adds so much excitement. Another important aspect is the fact that you are holding a shotgun at time, which you should be prepared to reload. Holding the shotgun in the air and patiently waiting for the perfect time to shoot the disk is very exciting. After shooting the bullet, you must remember to cock the gun open so that the shell casing can come flying out, then you are ready to reload the shotgun again.

After shooting twenty-five shots which is the number of shells in one box of ammunition, the guys stepped back and reviewed our scores. At the time, there were three dogs at the area scoping things out. Two of the dogs knew each other, but the other became a new friend for the day. I think back on that situation and try to understand what those dogs were thinking that day. I'm sure they've all been there before, since they were not jumping at the sound of every shot. The idea of animals being psychic can relate to this situation because the dogs have trust and an understanding that these humans with guns with not harm us in anyway. These Labradors carelessly walked to each of us with a desire to be pet; they certainly loved being pet behind the ears.

This understanding between dogs and humans surprises me because the animals were so carefree. At one point, a dog even roamed around the area filled with shattered disks. I myself became worried at this point, but the dog didn’t seem to care at all. This idea expresses an idea in my mind that dogs have a special understanding with humans and danger. Those three dogs that day seemed rather carefree even though our shotguns were only 6 feet from their faces, of course pointing up. But, in my case, I became uneasy at the sight of seeing a dog in the danger area. Maybe these dogs were psychic and they just simply understood somehow that we aren’t are threat at all. During my day of shoot trap for the first time, I also gained a new fond understanding of ‘mans’ best friend’ and how devote and trustworthy they really are.

Pet Psychics

Humans love their animals so much that they want to know anything and everything that is going on inside their minds. Whether it is a an old lady's cat that has started to act weird or a hyperactive poodle that has stopped behaving properly, pet owner's all around the world have resorted to extreme means with wanting to become closer with their 'best friends'. Like humans, who are brought to psychics when they are acting funny or their loved ones want to know more about them, pets are also cared for the same exact way! There are professionals out there that have dedicated their lives to understanding the minds of animals.

Pet psychics, whom are "also known as animal intuitive or animal communicators" have a different paradigm concerning animals and their abnormal actions. Pet psychics claim they intentionally use their minds to talk to animals, while normal pet owners unintentionally talk to their animals with their minds. Meeting between pets and animal psychics can happen via telephone or in person. I don't understand how pet psychics can work with their patient through the telephone because I believe actual eye to eye contact should be made when working with a patient. This idea of working over the phone can relate with actual human psychics and the idea of them also working over the phone. If humans prefer to see their psychic in person, why do worried owners regress to phone calls when wanting to find out information concerning to dog.

The term "extrasensory perception (ESP) refers to the bond between man and animals. This bond is formed through constant experience and growth within the family. I believe animals are practically one hundred just like having a actual human being in the family because pets get as much and even more attention in the family. The family pet is usually loved by everyone, while in some circumstances, not everyone in the family may like each other. Pet psychics focus on animals that can talk, animals that seem to be psychics themselves, and the overall relationship between the owner and the animal. Pet psychic's main purpose is to bridge the gap in the relationship. Usually, when owners hire psychics, they care deeply for their animals; therefore, they pay money in order to straighten out their relationship. The love that an owner receives from its pet is priceless, this is the reason why owners do not mind hiring pet psychics.

Vampires #2

Millions of people on this planet crave power. Whether it is the power to boss people around or power to bench press 300lbs at the gym, power is something that is constantly being desired. This ability changes people in ways that create more positive confidence in them which will either benefit or harm the world. In the fictional world, or to the dark world, vampires are creatures that also desire power. As mentioned in 'Vampire's Activity', "Vampires, it seems are power-mad." By putting together popular vampire notions that involve blood, death, darkness, and hungry with the desire for power, I believe this would create the ultimate fictional or even real creature.

Power can be worse to this world when it is exercised improperly by a group of people. Vampires, for example, tend to belong in groups. These vicious groups work together to hunt down and share their prey. A movie that reveals this vampire-type mentality is the movie 30 Days of Night. This movie came out about 3 months ago and is definitely one for all vampire addicts to see. 30 Days of Night has one main vampire who is the leader of about 7 others. This group of vampires includes female vampires who were protected and cared for throughout the movie. The females almost seemed as though they were slowly being developed into better vampires. The movie also stresses the idea of victims turning into vampires after being bitten. The transition from being human and then becoming a vampire is not immediate in the movie, rather, it takes a couple hours.

Victims that are killed are left at the scene of the crime decomposing. This "decomposition tends to be explained as the action of demons", and this is clearly shown with the vampires attacking them. Instead of understanding how likely vampire victims are buried, I would like to stress how the vampires in the movie 30 Days of Night were planning on burying their dead. Instead of eating every bit and piece of the human body, these vampires choose to set the whole town on fire. I believe Hollywood played a huge role in this because people are more willing to watch a whole town burn to bits instead of watching vampires eat single bit of their victims. Throughout the movie, ghastly sounds are heard whenever the vampires were on the prowl. “In the Philippines, according to Ramos, ghouls can be heard eating newly buried bodies”, thus people can assume that these ghouls can possibly be vampires. Vampires feast on humans; therefore, I believe people still fear the idea of them. I hope to never see a real vampire in my life.

Vampires

Sucking blood, black outfits, straight teeth, and bats. I first believed that vampires are only popular on television sets or on theatre big screens, but vampires have been known throughout much of Russian, Hungarian, and Romanian history. On the other hand, for those of us who do not live in that part of the world, media fuels such unrealistic and ravenous creatures within our minds. Ever since we were children, Scooby-Doo has made its mark on our minds. We know what vampires look like and what they do. Even for teenagers and some adult audiences, the movie Van Helsing reignited our knowledge concerning vampires and how scary and brutal they are.

In the book Vampires, Burial, and Death by Paul Barber, he is able to uproot priceless history regarding vampires that most of the world has probably not read. Actual accounts of possible vampire activity and possibilities for vampire existence are mentioned in the early portions of the book. A man by the name Peter Plogojowitz from the village of Kisilova is a written account of a man that was diagnosed to be a vampire; therefore, the people of Kisilova sharpened stakes and stabbed his death body with them. The villagers believed that Peter Plogojowitz was a real vampire because after his death, 9 people had died within a span of only 24 hours. Later in the book, they mention that a person that dies first as a result of an epidemic may be considered a vampire because many others die after that person. Therefore, everyone believes that the first person to die was one at fault. I believe that the case with Mr. Plogojowitz correlates entirely with this way of diagnosing a vampire. I believe Peter Plogojowitz definitely died as a result of an epidemic, which 9 other people also died with.

The section of the introduction under the heading "How Revenants Come into Existence" gives readers the chance to understand the many ways that vampires can come into existence. People are able to prove or disprove vampire diagnosis just by only knowing the four ideas: predisposition, predestination, events: things that are done to people, things that they do, things that happen to them, nonevents: things that are left undone. Despite the unrealistic ideas surroundings vampires and their true existence, I believe that knowing how revenants come into existence allows believers and even nonbelievers to reevaluate their reasoning or completely change their reasoning into believing that vampires really do exist.

The Apocalypse

Death is ranked the world's second most popular fear, which is very high because only stage fright supersedes it. The lose of one’s life can happen because of any kind of event; for example, tragic accidents, medical conditions, and even when the world ends. Tragic accidents are not completely unavoidable, because a person can defer them by staying safe indoors and not around people. Medical conditions can usually be treated with medicine, vaccinations to stop the sickness from occurring, or even surgery. The ‘end of the world’; on the other hand, cannot be avoided if it ever happens, thus resulting in the death of everyone. The term apocalypse means “the end of planet earth” and this is popular because many articles and media files exists concerning the end of the world and how it is inevitable.

Religious origins tend to be connected with the term apocalypse because it refers to a “revelation of God’s Will, not to some knowledge that is or will remain hidden or unknowable.” The end of the world has always been a huge part of Christianity because it also relates with the coming of Jesus Christ. Christ’s second coming has been long awaited for hundreds of years. Now-a-days, we rarely mention Christ second coming because it’s almost that bittersweet feeling which deals with faith and questions whether or not He is coming again. The apocalypse is a popular subject for magazines such as the National Inquirer, because their stories stir excitement, confusion, and curiosity within our minds. By bringing up paranormal or such life changing moments, our world and the media stresses the story in order to bring in viewers. I believe mentioning the apocalypse correlates with the need for attention. For example, the issue of global warming was mentioned to be connected with the gradual process of the ‘end of the world’ as our environment slowly deteriorates. Another group of people that take advantage of the ‘end of the world’ or the apocalypse are homeless people ‘aka’ hobos on the streets. I remember seeing “the end of the world is near” written on a piece of cardboard; therefore, he caught my attention, thus being gratified with the sight of another being noticing them.

These messages concerning the apocalypse is also present throughout the media and homeless made signs on the streets; in addition to, some portions of the Bible. Isaiah 13:10 states, “The day of wrath is coming to root out the sinners from the earth. On that day, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her light.” Phrases such as this stirs radical Catholics’ minds in thinking that the Bible is referring to global warming and this issue must be stressed as great as calling it the apocalypse. The Bible constantly refers to sinners in order to express that the wicked will be punished. The end of the world is inevitable and regardless of what we think will happen, we will never actually know until the apocalypse. Instances might occur such as scene in Hollywood when a huge asteroid would take a straight path towards the earth, then our government would have to find a way to blast this huge rock into smaller pieces. The apocalypse is currently an array of possibilities, in which, we could practically predict that the end of the world is coming. Despite the fear present with this event, I believe we should disregard it because we don’t have much in control except to try and take care of our environment and leave everything else in God’s hands.

Claim of Value

People should consider the physical and mental well-beings of people who claim they have been abducted by aliens. The mind can be an amazing or even terrible thing. By focusing on the idea of aliens and deciphering whether or not what was said really happened. I believe rigorous tests should be executed on alien abductees that make sure the patient is stable. Scientists should even observe the people with perfect well beings. There have been many cases that revolve around the confusion surrounding a perfect, humble, and honest with the day this child went on a killing rampage at his school. Alien abductees with perfect personalities must be asked questions that target whether or not they have anger built up inside or they are hiding a secret.

According to my morals, I believe that understanding the physical and mental well-being of someone is far more important than figuring out if the facts concerning aliens that they have mentioned is real. The chances of curing an unstable being is far greater than proving that aliens exists. Since there hasn't even been any proven facts, materials, or even debris that deal with the existence of aliens. It would benefit all humanity to slowly heal each alien abductee that enters a counseling office each day. I believe that finding extraterrestrial life is more of a hobby or activity that stirs excitement for people. Extraterrestrial searches should not be put in front of the medical state of human beings. Although, believing that one has seen a alien can uplift spirits and make a person active, I believe the long-term affect on this activity may become devastating to family members and even expensive.

I thoroughly believe that scientists should stress the importance of finding out if a person is mentally stable before allowing them to express information that they believe they remembered. For example, inside court houses; murderers and rapists can be diagnosed with insanity in the very last seconds before the whole audience before them thinks that the judge will sentence them to jail for life. Why not diagnose an alien abductee with insanity before he/she begins to destroy their relationships with their families, spend hundreds of dollars on alien counseling, or even raise kids who are hated upon because other children know their mom or dad believes in aliens. As a claim of the value of life and love of family, people who claim to have been abducted by aliens should first undergo a series of tests making sure that they are not insane.

Ghost Hunting Societies #2

Ghost, ghost, and more ghost! From the cartoons, youtube videos, and Halloween costumes, ghosts happen to float themselves all over the media and then into our minds. Paranormal occurrences such as this results in muchos dinero for the people who create these ghostly figures and incorporate them into clothing, videos, and books. Ghost hunters exists because they crave excitement in their lives via. paranormal and controversial ideas.

A group called the New England Skeptical Society consists of two very devout ghost hunters. Ed and Lorraine Warren, who have claimed to look at nearly 8,000 cases. “As a regional skeptical organization, they have taken on the task of investigating local paranormal claims” They have also sought to evaluate the phenomenon of ghosts (in the generic sense, referring to all manner of spiritual manifestations).” This group of ghost hunters claims to have scientific evidence which does indeed prove the existence of ghosts. Although, other ghost specialists outside the society have mentioned that their loads of evidence concerning these real ghosts have not undergone any rigorous scientific testing. I believe these situations occur because these ghost hunters are very devout and focused on finding paranormal life that any possible leads will shift their minds towards believing what they saw was real.

Another ghost hunting society goes by the name ‘The Society for Paranormal Investigation’. This group of ghost finding enthusiast have units positioned in Dallas Ft. Worth, Washington D.D. and New Orleans. These are all major cities, which to me means that these serious ghost hunters truly exists. According to their website, the definition of ghost is “the seat of life or intelligence; soul; in addition to, a disembodied soul, spirit, or demon.” An interesting face about this group of ghost hunters is that their work is “methodical, skeptical, and they always strive towards professionalism, first and foremost we believe in having a sense of humor as it is easy to take this field TOO seriously. Hey, even ghosts laugh sometimes.”

Ghost Hunting Societies

Ghost have been present throughout most of our lives. From the multiple times when scooby-doo and the gang would hunt for a ghost, or when we feel cold and become really scared because our minds direct our senses towards ghostly surroundings. The idea of having a ghost lurking around you unknowingly is scary enough, but how about those people in this world who crave spotting a ghost and taking some priceless footage. Many societies exists in the United States, and these numbers even increase internationally because ghost have become established as part of culture in China and South America.

The group of people named the 'Louisville Ghost Hunters Society' understands that 99% of their ghost findings can be "explained in a rational scientific way", but the other 1% is what keeps them from doing public and private investigations. This society remains one of the oldest and most respected ghost hunting societies in the world because of their professionals methods for spotting ghost. These group of hunters do not use "metaphysical manner (no psyhics, empaths, calirvoyants, etc.)." This group of hunters has over 100 active members and hundreds of other scooby-doo-like ghost hunters out there. Like a few other ghost hunting societies, the Louisville Ghost Hunters society provide public and private investigations free of charge. Keith Age, who is the founder of the society, is a charitable, polite, and a kid at heart. He enjoys hunting for ghost for free and his ghost hunting society also raised $10,000 for Crusade for Children.

Another ghost hunting society is the actual 'Ghost Hunter's Society'. They are an "independent research team dedicated to scientifically investigating and documenting paranormal phenomenon such as hauntings, poltergeists, apparaitions, ghost lights, and electronic voice phenomenon, and other paranormal claims." This society has networked itself with college students from all over the United States, including; University of Illinois psychology department and Purdue University. Their current investigations include places such as: Bachelor's Grove Cemetery, Oak Ridge Cemetery, Willard Library, Robinson Woods Burial Grounds, and many other cemeteries and old buildings. Ghost are popular to find within cemeteries because people believe that spirits rise up from their graves and roam the earth as they watch over their loved ones.

Like most people in this world, we are all kids-at-heart. If bungy jumping, driving really fast, or ghost hunting is what ignites our adrenaline then we whole-heartedly act out upon that. A hand few of people in this world have found ghost hunting the sort of activity that stirs their senses. Despite finding excitement during our childhood when we would see ghosts in cartoons such as Scooby-doo, people choose to find a higher level of excitement by hunting for ghosts themselves. Just like the many ghost hunting societies on earth, Scooby-doo and the gang have also been able to find scientific and justifiable facts to disprove paranormal activity.

Alien Medical Experiments On Humans #2

Our nation is all about making forward progress and revolutionizing our culture. Engineers, medical doctors, and even politicians are putting forth all their energy towards making life easier and more simple by creating complex instruments or ideas that will make an attempt to revolutionize this world. We are not the only beings in this universe that are trying to make technological advances. According to some alien abductees, extraterrestrials are not only kidnapping them, but they are also carrying out medical experiments on them. This action suggests that aliens too are wanting to make forward progress by understanding what goes on inside the body of homo sapiens.

According to John Mack, who is the author of “Passport to the Cosmos”, he mentions that these alien abduction and medical experiments “forces the abductee into a new paradigm of understanding the universe.” The unknown marks and scars on victims add to their belief that they were truly abducted by aliens. Some mention that aliens actually placed tracking devices on them, similar to how wildlife researchers plant GPS devices into endangered animals. Other foreign objects such as odd pieces of metal and bits of “residue from alien experiments” are also said to be found within victims legs and arms.

After abductees have gone to professional officials, they are usually told the news that this foreign object in their leg can be scientifically proven. Despite being told information given by professionals, abductees aloof from the earthly perspective because they themselves believe devoutly in their unique extraterrestrial experience. Alien medical experiments have somehow become popular amidst our world, but zero physical evidence exists regarding the real probes that aliens use or even the side effects after the surgeries done on patients. It took medical doctors many years to understand that HIV spreads because of unsanitary procedures done in the hospital. Abductees have not expressed any side effects concerning alien medical experiments. I believe that the first couple of abductees must have at least caught ‘alien aids’ and died, but evidence of abductees’ unknown marks have not shown any deadly side effects. Either aliens have amazing sanitizing procedures or these so-called alien medical experiments never happened.

Alien Medical Experiments On Humans

How would you feel if you wakeup in the middle of surgery and find out that Dr. Nopain is not dong surgery on you, rather, a slimy, grey, and huge-eyed alien is sticking foreign anal bead like probes inside of you? One might freak out and die because of shock; on the other hand, so called alien abductees pay hundreds of dollars to reenact this special moment over and over in their minds. This exchange benefits both counselors and patients, in which, counselors may get paid between $50-$500 per session and patients are filled with priceless memories. People such as Budd Hopkins, who is a abduction researcher, also makes money off of the idea of alien medical experiments. He has written many books that include stories where a person is abducted from their bed and then sent up into the spaceship to have experiments done on them.

The process of alien abduction starts off with physical and even mental paralysis. At this time the abductees undergo “missing time” experience, in which, they entirely forget what happened between that span of time. By this point in the abduction procedure, the abducted person is now on a flat table with aliens dissecting him with probes. “The aliens also perform physical experiments, take tissue samples for further genetic manipulation and attempt physical alteration of their subjects.” There have also been some speculations that patients are placed into vats of liquid where they are cleaned and ready to get back to their bed or walking trail.

“In one 2004 case, an 82 year old grandmother was still being abducted, both for the alien's quasi-medical experiments and to interact with alien hybrid babies.” For some strange reason the stories of many abductees share parallel circumstances in their abduction stories. People that are abducted often mention that the aliens had sexual contact with them or they were experimented on. I believe that people who say that aliens have experimented on them probably have some kind of sickness that doctors and even themselves cannot diagnose; therefore, they climate towards blaming aliens on their disgruntled internal bodies.

If aliens intervene their foreign probes into human bodies, why don’t abductees have any marks to prove that they’ve been experimented on. Alien sightings still do not have any physical or scientific proof that these extraterrestrials truely exists. Despite our quickly advancing medical technology, medical doctors still do have the capability to completely cover scars after stitching has been performed. Even if aliens did exists and were much more advanced than we are, proof is no where to be found concerning alien medical experiments on humans.

1st Day of English

My excitement just about 10 minutes was as intense as seeing a UFO flying in the sky, now that Mr. Blaskiewicz has kept us in class, excitement levels have dropped severely. But this blog thing is pretty sweet. I'm glad he kept us in for these 20 more minutes of class. Whoo!
